This website provides public access to Washington State’s Voter Registration Database (VRDB) as allowed by RCW 29A.08.710 and RCW 29A.08.720. The data is sourced from the Washington Secretary of State’s monthly public extracts.
The purpose of this site is to make publicly available voter data easier to access and explore for political, educational, and research use. The application supports searching by name, address, county, legislative district, and other filters.
Important: Use of this data for commercial advertising or solicitation is strictly prohibited under RCW 29A.08.740.
This site was independently developed using open-source technologies including Flask (Python), PostgreSQL, HTML/CSS, and Nginx.
The Participation Score is a turnout-participation score based on public voter-registration and voting-history data. It is intended to show how consistently a voter has participated in the elections currently counted by this site.
For Participation Score v1.1, the calculation includes regular General Elections and even-year Primary Elections. Odd-year local primaries are excluded because voter eligibility for those elections can vary by precinct, district, and ballot style. Those elections may be added in a future version if reliable precinct-level eligibility data becomes available.
The score is calculated by comparing the number of counted elections after the voter’s registration date with the number of those counted elections in which the voter participated.
Example: If a voter was eligible for 15 counted elections and voted in all 15, the voter’s Participation Score is an A Rating — 15/15 counted elections.
The Participation Score measures voting-history participation only. It does not indicate political party, candidate preference, ideology, ballot choices, voter intent, community service, or overall civic involvement. It is designed for election research, civic engagement, and voter-participation analysis.
